Collage Landscapes

Is a large body of work dealing directly with the environmental theme of land use  or what I call The Disappearance of the American West. Technically, I collage art historical references to my photographs in a process I call “sequencing,”
The pictorial device of sequencing my landscape photographic images with classic themes such as  good/evil, heaven/hell, life/death, love/hate are used as a visual prefix or suffix, is used to prompt a parallel reading of the images and how the themes of the paintings can alter or enlarge upon the theme of my photographs sequenced either horizontal or vertically.
Most of these photographs were taken on film, while the various paintings were scanned from art historical references and digitally printed
All the photographs were taken independent of the final matched art historical sets. All of the printing was done on Epson’s 7600 printer, with archival inks and papers. The creative art work of Ken Iwamasa is represented by the Robischon Gallery in Denver.
